Produção processamento e venda de hortícolas – Amarula Farms
History
Amarula Farms Lda (“Amarula”) was created in October 2012 as an agricultural and horticultural company with the vision of developing a competitive market in Mozambique in the incorporation and distribution of food products that would connect local producers and the world, implying wealth for the region.
Since its creation, Amarula’s management has been pragmatic and practical in identifying main targets and creating a sustainable business model, which benefits all parties involved: individuals linked to Amarula.
Subsidy requested from FCID
Amarula requested financing from the FCID of 1,472,674 USD, to establish a value chain for the storage of vegetable production and marketing in order to make the Nampula region the most credible source of vegetables in Mozambique throughout the year, through increasing the capacity of the infrastructure currently established to promote horticulture and complementing it with an integrated value chain, including storage, transport and distribution.
Beneficiaries
In this project, Amarula Farms plans to work in partnership with 160 small producers in the village of Namialo – Nampula.
